I got my first Raleigh mountain bike at the age of about 15. I used it for pootling around the lanes and bridleways near my home in Kent. It travelled with us when we moved to London for work. It was replaced my a succession of two more hard tails, but it took me a little longer to get into mountain biking than Alaric. I was just about to throw in the towel when suddenly in 2001 I bought a Trek VRX full-suss. It gave me a new lease of life and I have loved the bike and mountain-biking ever since. I still ride it regularly along with my Cannondale F800 Hard-tail. As well as being one of the Epic MTB Greece guides, I am also the webmaster. I've been cycling ever since I first learned to ride a bike. As soon as I was allowed out on my own I would go on long road rides around Kent. I started mountain biking in '96, primarily as a way to get to work in London. It didn't take too long to realise that I'd rather be out in Epping Forest than on the roads to and from work. Since then I have become more and more 'into' mountain biking both as a hobby and as a sport. My background is in outdoor activities and my previous employment in customer service related industries mean that I am able to tailor every holiday and each ride to our guests wants, needs and abilities. I've spent a lot of time building, repairing and restoring bikes of all ages, so I can deal with most mechanical problems easily... There are lots of stories about 'trail fixes' that I have managed both here and in the UK! Our move to Greece marks a huge change in our lives and it's been great that we have, made some wonderful friends here. The riding is even better than we had hoped and we're finding new trails all the time..! The lifestyle here is great too. Excellent restaurants and Tavernas, friendly locals and a perfect geographical location. why not come a try it for a week or two, we'd love to see you!
