If you are unsure of what to do with your bike to pack it safely for plane travel don't worry.

We have a bike packing guide to help you do it yourself. If you are still worried, ask your local bike shop for help. We have found that many local bike shops will provide a bike packing service for £15 - £30. When you get to Greece we offer a 'free of charge' bike assembly service! Here are a list of shops that we know pack bikes for travel:

Bike style's packing service costs £15 including a box. They can also rent you a bike bag. They are open 9 - 6 Mon-Fri ('til 7 Thur) and 9 - 5.30 on Saturday.

Kudu Bikes charge £20 to pack your bike, can rent you a bike back and even post it to you. They are open 9 - 5 Mon-Fri and 10 - 4 Sun.

Keswick Bikes will charge £25 to supply a cardboard box and pack your bike.
They are open every day except Christmas Day and New Years Day! Mon-Sat 9 - 5.30 Sun 10 - 5.30 .

The flight to Athens is approximately 3.5 hours.

If you book early flights can cost from £80 to £150

If you leave it very late you may find flights get very expensive.

Unlike, for example, Spain, there are no charter flights to Athens. This means there aren't currently the good deals on flights that we have come to expect.

An evening meal in Nea Makri may cost you a similar amount in Euros as it would in pounds here. Depending on your taste you can spend 12-25 euros including alcoholic drink. There are a range of restaurants from cheap kebab places in the town square, to local tavernas to the local Vietnamese restaurant.

The exchange rate is about 1.4 at the moment which means that 1 Euro is about 70p

I have found the cheapest place to buy Euros online is Travelex. You order online and you can conveniently pick your euros up at the airport
