Epic MTB Greece - Mountain Biking

At Epic MTB Greece we offer fantastic trails at all levels. Our knowledge of the mountain bike trails in the local area of Attica is immense and we have something for everyone. Technical singletrack, distance, leisurely rides or a combination. We will devise a holiday to suit your needs.

We will start you off in our local mountains of Pendeli, just a short ride from the hotel. From here we will discover your abilities and preferences. We will then take you to all or some of the following riding areas so you can make the most of your holiday.

We have some GPS mapped routes of the area which you can view using Google Earth. Click the button to the right to download the Google Earth software to your PC.

Pendeli

The Pendeli mountain range is our local range and is just a short ride from the hotel. The riding here is on open mountain sides with long ascents. There are spectacular views and long, rocky, challenging descents.

Parnitha

Mount Parnitha is the biggest mountain in Attica at just over 1400 meters. It is north of Athens and only 45 minutes drive from the hotel. This is the wilds at its best! Choose a days technical riding or take the scenic option with a visit to the church of Agios Petros and a tour of the mountain top.

The Royal Forest

The Royal Forest, at Tatoi, was owned by the royal family until a few years ago and rests at the base of Parnitha. It is a huge wooded hilly area, honeycombed with a massive network of trails both single and double track. Spend a day with us and ride "The Mexican" and "Better then Sex"...help us name some of the the other amazing trails!

Sesi Beach

On a warm sunny day what better than to ride down to the secluded beach at Sesi. The ride is a mixture of back roads and dirt trails ending at a beautiful beach. There is also a cantina where you can purchase food and drink.

If you have brought a non-riding partner or family with you, they can enjoy this route from the comfort of our 4x4 and enjoy a day at the beach too.

Ymittos

What a fantastic way to finish off your mountain biking holiday! Ymittos is only 40 minutes drive from the hotel and boasts some of the most technical riding we have on offer here. Ymittos, famous for its thyme-scented honey, lies at the southeast border of Athens. This mountain is covered with a beautiful pine forest and has many attractions: historic monasteries, clearly marked paths and unsurfaced forest roads barred to traffic which are ideal for mountain biking. Ride up the fire roads and down the singletrack or ride up the singletrack and down the singletrack! The choice is yours!

Racing:

There are many opportunties to race while you are staying with us. Why not include a race as part of your holiday package. Let us know if you see something you are interested in and we'll give you a price including all the usual stuff plus transport to and from the race, race entry and race workshop. Schiniathlon - A friendly short triathlon race in the next town along the beach.
Schiniathlon Forum - Ask about the Schiniathlon and get information about other running and cycling races coming up. The Schiniathlon is run by Marie Leautey who is 'Frenchy' on the forum.

Day Riding:

So, you've already booked your holiday and are staying in the Athens area. You want to spend a few days with us in the mountains. Easy. Start times and length of ride will vary depending upon you and us, a guided ride will cost € 70

Pendeli or Sesi

You make your own way to and from Nea Makri or we pick you up from Pallini Metro Station.

Parnitha or The Royal Forest

You make your own way to and from Nea Makri or we can pick you up and drop you off at Kifassia Metro Station.

Ymittos

You make your own way to and from Nea Makri or we can pick you up and drop you off at Pallini Metro Station.

Bike hire

is € 20 per day

Pre-pay Special Offer

4 rides for € 240, 6 rides for € 360 or 10 rides for € 500. These can be split between riders e.g. 2 rides for 2 riders = 4 rides at € 240

Under the pre-pay scheme bike hire is € 15 and is also to be paid in advance

Pre-pay scheme is to be paid for up front on your first ride with us - there will be no refunds.

Back to Basics: Pendeli

Most of us start out teaching ourselves mountain biking. This self taught approach is a great way to get started, but some of the bad techniques learnt this way can limit your further progression as a rider.
